copying users from zentyal 2.2 ldap to 3.2
« on: September 15, 2014, 04:30:20 pm »
I've tried the approach of making an ldif file from apache studio but my problem is i can't connect to my new zentyal 3.2 server so i can import the ldif i've made. Is there any other approach to do so? Thanks in advance

Why can't you connect to the new server?  That sounds like an issue that needs to be redressed before attempting to import LDAP

Root DN:    cn=zentyal,dc=feu-nrmf,dc=ph
Password:    1vSQDNqlnUletRulIzDh

This is my LDAP setting on new Zentyal 3.2, when attempting to login in apache directory studio the error

The authentication failed - LDAP: error code 49 - Simple Bind Failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE

Is there any pre required configuration so i can connect thru ADS? or should i edit some file to do so. TY

This probably fails because zentyal 2.2 uses samba3 and zentyal 3.2 uses samba4.

The only way you can update in a reliable way is backup-restore. There is a howto on migration to Zentyal 3.0 After that you can do the migration to 3.2. I don' t know if you can do the migration to 3.2 in 1 step. You should investigate that option yourself.

@clreyes: in apache studio you connect to zentyal 3.2 on port 389 for openldap? Try port 390...

Port 390 is blocked by default in fw, have you allowed access?

Finally find a solution but to zentyal 3.5 which is not OpenLDAP. here's the URL
