[SOLVED] Zentyal 3.5 - ldap password location
« on: July 11, 2014, 09:06:28 pm »
Good afternoon,

I'm wanting to configure and app for LDAP.  Zentyal 3.4 and below displayed password in settings.

Zentyal web frontend and get informations about your LDAP at Office --> Users and Groups --> LDAP Settings
Let's assum your:
Base-DN:    dc=my,dc=company,dc=com
Root DN:    cn=zentyal,dc=my,dc=company,dc=com
Password:    ndeifbwkwz46wnd82nb
Users DN:    ou=Users,dc=my,dc=company,dc=com
Groups DN:    ou=Groups,dc=my,dc=company,dc=com

*I know alot has been removed since Zentyal 3.5 production I'm only seeing 3 ldap setting and no password.

Any ideas where to locate it? I also noticed that default groups is the same as users where normally this would display CN=Groups but I'll investigate that at a later time.

Any feedback would be great!

Base DN
DC=mydomain,DC=com
Default Users DN
CN=Users,DC=mydomain,DC=com
Default Groups DN
CN=Users,DC=mydomain,DC=com

Thanks in advance!

The openldap has gone but I suppose any domain admin will do.

I am using the administrator account but really should make a user for my app.

CN=Administrator,CN=Users,DC=office,DC=zentyal,DC=lan

fqdn=zent1.office.zentyal.lan

The password is whatever the password has been set to on install or changed to.

/etc/postfox and /etc/dovecot have conf files set by zentyal that should give a good reference

Thanks for pointing me in the correct direction.

I'm trying the same without luck  >:(
I'm using user/pass made during Zentyal setup together with Base/User/Group DN from the LDAP setting page. Keep getting message
Code: [Select]
FAILED with error NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD in Samba log. What am I doing wrong? I can't find /etc/postfox(fix?) nor /etc/dovecot files.

Is there somewhere I can go to figure out what the heck LDAP is and where I can find out what all these settings mean?

I don't understand what we're doing with the making a user thing.

My /etc/postfox is missing, too?
Two weeks ago i had opened the configfile in that path in an other installation. Whats wrong?

When i want to change an LDAP Setting, this red failure comes in GUI:

So you get the postfix when you install and activate the email module...
Then you get your /etc/postfix and there in the login.cf are the credentials.
