Help! - How to install Owncloud on Zentyal 3.5? [SOLVED]
« on: August 23, 2014, 10:20:30 pm »
Hi there,

can anyone tell me how to install Owncloud on Zentyal 3.5 without getting error messages in Zentyal?

System:
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
Zentyal 3.5 with latest updates
Installed Modules in Zentyal: Mail, OpenChange & OpenChange Mail, Firewall, DNS, Events, Logs, NTP, Users, Computers and File Sharing, DNS, NTP, Web Server

This is what i did so far:
1. Install Zentyal 3.5 everything ok everything works
2. Install Owncloud everything ok everything works

I followed the installation steps on the official website but when I update Zentyal 3.5 or change configurations and safe those, i get error messages. My guess is, that the Owncloud installation messes up the Zentyal Configuration.

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks

Hi,

i could find the problem! when you install Owncloud ist will also install exim4
this 4 packages you have to delete!

1)     exim4
2)     exim4-base
3)     exim4-config
4)     exim4-daemon-light

after that zentyal will have no dependency problems

Hi,

i thought it would be great to know how it works exactly :)

How To:
  • add user to admin group
  • setup hostname, hosts, mailname
  • update & upgrade ubuntu
  • install owncloud 7
  • delete exim4*
  • install zentyal 3.5

after that zentyal and owncloud are working nice together.

this is what worked for me. this ist of course no guarantee! but if you need help write :)
best regards
