After upgrading Ubuntu nothing works :/
« on: May 28, 2014, 04:39:07 pm »
Today I've tryed to upgrade both Zentyal and Ubuntu.
To have the 3.4 installed, I've decided to upgrade the ubuntu 12.04 LTS to 14.04LTS.
After the upgrade of Ubuntu, I've change the apt sources to 3.4.

I've tried to upgrade the zentyal package via command line with no results.
I've tried then to install again but I always get this error:

Perl API version v5.14.0 of 1 does not match v5.18.0 at /usr/lib/perl/5.18/DynaLoader.pm line 207.
Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/perl5/EBox/Sudo.pm line 25.

dpkg: error processing package zentyal-core (--configure):
il sottoprocesso installato script di post-installation ha restituito lo stato di errore 2
Si sono verificati degli errori nell'elaborazione:
 zentyal-core
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

How can I proceed? Do I have to install over?
In the case I've to install over, how can I save data and configuration (if possible)?

So you tried an unsupported upgradepath.
Have a close look at http://www.zentyal.org/zentyal-release-policy. The ubuntu versions of every specific zentyal version are closely tied together.
Further the first version with a supported upgradepath is 3.3 to 3.4 which upgrades ubuntu from 12.04 to 13.10 and Zentyal from 3.3 to 3.4

This does not mean you can't encounter any problems, so before you attempt any upgrade, make sure you have backups of data and configuration.
