Hi,
i belive this is a bug and shouldn happend. Maybe someone can check it out, bevor i open a ticket.

  • start with a fresh installation from daily 3.4 build
  • i choose only one network card and basic packages incl. openchange and openchangemail (see on screenshot)
  • do the first settings
  • at the end of settings you will see that the webserver isn't able to start.
i didn't realised this problem when i install only openchange at beginning and openchange webmail after finnishing first assistant.

I did both https://forum.zentyal.org/index.php/topic,20904.0.html

Reboot and all goes not sure what why

I made sure samba (file sharing) was all ready and installed first though.

So much happens with Samba that get your network stuff installed and domain name set.
Then reboot
Install samba
reboot
install openchange sogo
reboot

That is my safe option

yes, i agree, installing it step by step will get less problems. But normally it should work. I think thereare somedependencies, wich are beeing missed.

here is the zentyal.log.

Probably torsten.

Your right and its a pain to get to that stage then you have to have to restart from scratch.

Samba has been relatively sensitive all through the 3.0 series for me.

So its kid gloves.

It works if you do it in steps and all, it makes some fstab entries which I always thought would take a reboot.

I am not sure why on certain modules it doesn't reboot rather than wasting someones time :( Its not that much of a wait?

Would like to know how you get on?

The big modules reboot before and after is just a tip but it works.

Hi Torsten,

Thanks for the feedback.

We will give it a look shortly and ensures it is fixed this week.
We may eventually require some of your time to gather more information and eventually test it again if you are willing to.

Julien.

Hi Julien,
i will help as good as i can. When you need more information let me know it. A ticket is opend https://tracker.zentyal.org/issues/271

I will do the next installation without openchangemail, and report.

I also remember with my first steps with 3.3 i also noticed some broken parts when i install to much at one time without reboot. And in some howtos is written, that we should better install step by step.
But in this case some settings seems to miss, or better i say beeds to be configured by hand. This is for an beginner really hard, and so i did many reinstallations in the last weeks.

Luckily, i have a fast server with a really fast ssd, so the hole setup incl. first update und settings will last around 0,5h.

I did some more test installations. I found out that the problem will not come from openchangemail, it´s caused by usercorner. openchange and openchangemail with all packages from my first post will not brake webserver.

Maybe this has to do with my last bug with usercorner, which is solved, and there is another unknown left.

SOGo Openchange still works but can't access user corner on 8888

On reboot webadmin Porked with a capital P
