« on: March 26, 2008, 02:18:31 pm »
Hello!
I need to change the network configuration in my ebox machine (ip, gateway and DNS).
How do I do that? ???

Hi Patcunha,

In order to change those parameters you may do the following:

  • IP: Net -> Interfaces. Change your addresses to those interfaces you require
  • Gateway: Net -> Gateways: Edit your table or add a default gateway following the form show by "Add new"
  • DNS: Net -> DNS: Edit the nameservers

I hope this helps.

It didn't work!

Here is my network diagram:

The file server is the Ebox machine.

When i changed IP I got a message saying that i might lose access to the interface, or something like that.
Changing the gateway couldn't be possible because it couldn't be found.
 ??? ??? ???

Is there a way to change this in the command line, in the files?

Maybe a new install will solve the problem!

You must accept the warning message when chaning the IP from the interface and save changes.

Then, you lose the connection to your eBox which is now it will be reachable using the new IP address. Afterwards, you can change the gateway since it will be reachable.

I hope this has made up your mind :).
