Cant access any shares after 3.3.4 update

after updating my production server last night all my shares including my "user share" have become inaccessible 

the only shared folder i can see is sysvol- can anyone recommend anything?
please i am desperate to fix this all the students cannot access any of their work!

Only removing/reinstalling Users and Computers module will affect your users.
But if you want to be absolutely sure, recreate the situation in a VM and dry-run first.

thanks tried this but still no sucsess- it would seem that all my permissions are lost  any way to fix this? even if i have to sit manualy and do it is there a howto that you can point me to?

so now its much worse than anticipated- on the web UI i cant see any of the users. So i assume all has been wiped out- i can see the groups, and all the windows user seem to be there on the remote active directory tool (but i have no permission to edit or change them). i also cannot create users on the web UI because it says the users already exist. Anybody have any ideas?

Ok i have found a bug (i think and hope!)

if users are in any organizational unit other then "users" they get their home drives striped of their permissions and lose all their rights

can anybody confirm this? and is there a workaround? i had this working for quite some time before the update "broke" it!

To the developers: I don't want to be rude, being just a novice and appreciating your work on Zentyal, but don't you think you should be stricter on versioning a stable release when it's almost clear that more often than expected the updates mess something on the server?
