eGroupware updates and patches

There are security patches and bug fixes for eGroupware 1.6.001 from the mainline which I would like to apply.

What precautions or considerations are necessary when doing updates such as these to eGroupware?

Hi,

We use the official Ubuntu packages for eGroupware without modifications, we only backport it to hardy from newer distributions (karmic). So we will apply that patches when Ubuntu do it.

If you want to patch it manually, I don't think you have to take any precuation, security updates shouldn't break anything. Anyway, if you have any problem let us know.
