Network home folder... how?
« on: December 25, 2013, 05:27:10 am »
Hey all!

I'm experimenting with the Domain Controller and the one thing I can't hammer down (probably due to terminology) is creating Network home folders for the users.

Better known as a Roaming Profile on Windows
MacOS: Netusers/Network home folder

I'm trying to configure the Z to do that, the problem is how?

Goal:
Zentyal DC does all of the authentication
File server holds all of the user profiles

How do I link the two together?
Thanks!

Partially described here.
You can enable "roaming profile" and also select your drive letter from Zentyal GUI.
There is no detail about login script in this documentation section...  :-[

Furthermore, I've to agree that, e.g., searching for "roaming" in documentation using embedded search feature provides no (zero) result  ::)

As far as I understand the whole thing:

roaming profiles and the share with the drive letter (which you can adjust in the web interface) are not combined.

Needless to say that this is only for Windows clients. Automount of 'home' directory/personal share in a linux client is unfortunately not implemented.
