Can't install ebox 0.11.99 on debian 4.0 etch

Hi!

I'm trying to install ebox 0.11.99 on my debian 4.0 etch system. I've just installed it (debian) and when I try the commands on the installation guide I only get several errors.

# apt-get install ebox libebox \
> ebox-network ebox-objects ebox-mail \

eBox is not supported by debian etch. Only the old sarge debian is stable supported and a new beta version is being tried to be released in Ubuntu Hardy 8.04.

Is a release to etch realistic? I'm not so in to linux so I'm not really sure what Hardy is.

We are very lack of resources to maintain several branches depending on the selected distro  .

Hardy is the next release for the Ubuntu distribution. eBox will be included in Ubuntu repositories for that release, that is, eBox could be installable in every Ubuntu machine.

but the only problem I see with the answer to wally's post is that Debian "sarge" as of March 2008 is not support for security updates.  This make ebox for Debian "sarge" obsolete. Now I am impressed that Ubuntu is going include ebox in its new release.  But alot of folks like myself, would like to see a release for any linux distro.  this way ebox  is never obsolete.

I must agree with you. Just because I wanted ebox I installed sarge today. Hopefully I wont get hacked XD Fingers crossed!
