IP Change
« on: September 18, 2009, 10:08:11 pm »
I have now installed ebox twice and both times have had very bad results with the ip address change.  The first time I change the ip address in the user interface.  Could not get connected correctly.  Then I manually adjusted the network settings and could still not get to the box.  I have several other Linux boxes correctly configured and have never had issues.  As long as I leave it as DHCP it works fine.

Is there more network information that I need to change besides in the interfaces & resolve.conf.

Thanks

In the ebox interface, set the gateway.

I initially had problems with this. Do it all from the ebox interface and make sure to put in the gateway.

If you try to set up manually, ebox will erase the gateway setting.
For me it goes like this: Assuming one network card.

install ebox
go to network, interfaces, change ip address, and netmask. Do NOT choose external.
Got back to network, add a gateway, then save.
Has worked on about 10 installations.
