Dansguardian configuration

Hi,

I have seen the dansguardian.conf file and theres several lists of banned sites wich have #. I have tried to unmark several lists to use them. But when I restart squid they return to the original.

How can I do this. In fact I want the proxy, porn, violence lists on my school blocked.

Hi,
 i think you are talking about the bannedsitelist file.
eBox overwrites the files in each restart;if you want to make permanent changes you instead must edit the template file.
In this case the template file can be found at /usr/share/ebox/stubs/squid/bannedsitelist.mas. Uncomment the lines and restart the proxy service.

One last thing, if you have content filtering active dansguardian already searches the content of the web pages for porn and violence. Those lines are for a hardwired banned site list supplied with dansguardian. (in addition to any site you ban using the ebox interface)

Yes, Ebox does filter sex an other pages. The only thing that I want is blocking proxy sytes such as "anonymouse.org", the students use this proxy web sites for bypassing the filter, and dansguardian has a black list for proxy.

Anyway if the site you want banned isn't in the dansguardian list,  you can add it using the eBox interface.

In dansguardian there is no folder with bannedsitelist. Is there a way of installing them?

You can get them at http://dansguardian.org/?page=blacklist . However the site listed  are commercial services but at least one of them lets you download the blacklist a first time for free.
