[SOLVED] Domain Controller Shot by Phaser
« on: July 30, 2013, 11:37:55 pm »
If my primary domain controller gets shot by this phaser:

How do I get one of the "Additional Domain Controllers" to become the master for my network? Is there any documentation that outlines the steps of promoting an additional domain controller to primary?

By the way, this phaser is not on stun, it is on kill (disintegrate).

If your server is struck by a phaser type II, it will probably burst into flames at the very least (even on stun).  You are looking for FSMO role re-assignment.  There might be documentation here to do that (MS DC migration to Zentyal path) and if not, you will find it on the samba4 site.  Let me know if you don't find it and I will help with the search.

I found what I was looking for right away.  See this http://trac.zentyal.org/wiki/Documentation/Community/Document/TotalMigration
