DHCP/IP Configuration Problems
« on: July 20, 2013, 06:45:12 pm »
We have been using Zentyal for about a year with just one NIC.  The network configuration is Zentyal in a virtualbox on a home/business server.  That connects to a switch, which connects to another switch, a wireless router, and a cable modem.  All IP addresses are currently static through the DHCP server on the router.

I rebuilt the server recently with two NICs and I'm trying to set up one external & one internal per the documentation and I'm confused as to ip address & NIC configuration.

My goal is to have a secure LAN with internet access, including the wireless, and be able to access a couple of web apps we use from the LAN and from outside the network.

From what I can tell, the desired config is to use Zentyal as my router.  Of course I want to keep my wireless so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with my router, and also the best NIC config in Zentyal (static, bridged, etc).
