Zentyal vs. Tor Project
« on: July 04, 2013, 09:52:19 am »
Hi,

has anybody any experiences installing Tor project (anonymizer proxy) on top of Zentyal Squid Proxy? I would like to do that, but I guess, Proxy foreward settings in squid3.conf will be overwritten on each proxy update within Zentyal GUI.

Thanks
Thorsten

In network/gateway section, you can still define external proxy you want to relay to...
Doesn't this permit to relay to Tor ?
You can of course deploy Tor node on Zentyal server  8)

Hi Christian,

Thanks -
This allows even more than expected - sorry for missing all features of Zentyal  8)

Now there are two options:
- run TOR on top of Zentyal installation using an internal forewared e.g. to standard port 9050 or any else.
- run TOR as a separate installation, e.g. using a virtual machine within Zentyal environment, forewarding to the related IP / Port adress

Best regards
Thorsten
