I got it working!! I figured out that the permissions on the file /etc/shadow were not as expected.

 :o :o :o wow  :o :o :o how can this be  ??? Did you change something manually ?

I guess the permissions where set by the provider that set up the VM for us. So they already were like that when we got it.

Once your server is up and running, I would like your feedback after some weeks of use about service you get from it.
I still don't really understand what would be the added value of such kind of platform that is primarily acting as edge infrastructure component (I mean with firewall and proxy) when used in hosted mode  ???

If I understand well (tell me if I'm wrong) it would mean that all clients are accessing through VPN otherwise accessing only to external services.
How would domain emulation work ? (and file sharing BTW, given it uses SMB which is not that efficient over WAN  ;))
