[SOLVED] Login for editing the wiki at trac.zentyal.org

Hello everybody,

is it only me or is this statement:

If you want to contribute, just  Register in the Forum or login with your Forum user account

grabbed from http://trac.zentyal.org/wiki/Documentation/Community simply not correct?

Clicking on "login" I am just not able to log in as "UdoB" using my Forum password. Should that work? What's the trick?

This should be fixed now. Please give it another try with your forum member account (http://trac.zentyal.org/login).

We are doing some slight adjustments to permissions but hopefully they'll be transparent for people.

Unfortunately, no. It does not work.

I tried to trigger some unknown magic behind the scenes by modifying my forum password. No success with both new and old. My password consists of small characters, capitals, numbers and special characters (not /very/ special, just punctuation). Are there requirements/restrictions regarding the password for trac.../login that do not apply for the forum?

I have now created another fresh forum account just for testing with a simple password similar to "qwerXYXY". I've tested unsuccessful with
* Firefox 16 on Linux at home
* Firefox 16 on Linux on a vserver "in the cloud"
* Firefox 16 and IE 9 on Windows 7 at home
* Firefox 16 and IE ? on Windows 7 at a different location

I give up.

My Login ID in the forum is UdoB

I found that this does NOT qualify as a valid user id for http://trac.zentyal.org/login.

But when I use udob it does work :-)

Trac's login userid is case sensitive and it requires them to be all small letters.

Am i really the only one falling into that pitfall...?

That's an interesting question. I can log in using both Sam Graf and sam graf.

No. The attached screenshot shows clearly identical four characters.

When I use UdoB on Trac I get the well known error in the second screenshot. Then I do only edit the capitalization without touching the password - and then it works.

The red box around the edit fields indicates the usage of the Lastpass Add-on which pre-fills the fields. I did test also using Firefox without that one (on Windows 7). In that case I have to enter Username and Password manually.

So I must re-confirm that my observation is unchanged for me, but my workaround.... works.
