WARNING: All redirector processes are busy

After checking the cache.log file I often get the error message:

2012/10/04 09:43:13| WARNING: All redirector processes are busy.
2012/10/04 09:43:13| WARNING: 5 pending requests queued
2012/10/04 09:43:13| Consider increasing the number of redirector processes in your config file.

How can I change the amount of the processes, Google tells me to edit the squid.conf and change the value redirect_children or redirect_program. But non of these values seem to be present.

How to increase the number of the redirector processes in Zentyal?

not directly in Zentyal but in squid conf "template".

How many users do you have to have reached default value limit (I make the assumption, I'll check later, that there is no such value today because it relies on default value if missing).
BTW are you using complex HTTP filtering?

Hello Christian,

We have a total of 130+ users connected to the Internet.
I don't use complex http filtering, only one network object with 2 workstations have a filter applied.

Problem is that @ peak-times our Internet connection gets really slow.
I already checked all the other possible causes but I think that it's related to the redirector messages.
The proxy comes to a level that it cannot reply to all requests and then starts filling up a que.

When the slowness appears the server works half load and the Internet connection itself is OK (checked with Internet provider).
I can only point out the proxy (redirector processes) as being the cause.

Default is 5, it is necessary to raise this value.
