Yes, works great.
I was struggling for weeks with this problem thinking it was Zentyal.
I'm happy now to finally setup my server.

I've installed the 32-bit iso on VirtualBox with success. Then I've installed (three times, varying the method) the same iso on a physical machine without success. The problem appears always that the File Sharing module is selected. Also I've installed the 64-bit iso on VirtualBox with no problems.

I think we might have to start listing exactly what hardware, iso and version an vm or not.

As this is one of those horrible errors that is sporadic and possibly a combination of  attributes.

If the community gets a good install it might be welcomed that you post hardware and iso and version.

Haven't a clue really apart from collating data about good and bad installs.

Me being paranoid I thought maybe the devs where shifting repo's or doing some spring cleaning but as I say haven't a clue.

Yes I've been getting this same error for 3 days now... I've tried installs from the official and beta .iso, I've been installing the 32bit .iso on vmWare Workstation 9 and Virtualbox (latest). I have not tried installing from ubuntu 12.04 (although I checked the md5 on the official). If I'd read this earlier I would have tried installed on bare metal as well. Will get back to this later.

NO I've never played with PROXY. I did get this to work eventually by installing NTP DNS and Users and Groups first. Configuring as much as I could, promptly rebooting and installing SAMBA. NTP wasn't working for me until I changed my timezone to something official. DNS also wouldn't allow me to add the hostname until I restarted it.

I had this issue yesterday with a fresh ISO install of 3.0.  I selected all the modules I wanted to install when I was initially configuring the server and ended up with that error(File sharing version 3.0.14).  I reinstalled from the ISO yesterday, installed network, ntp, users and dns without updating anything.  Selected use PAM under user and groups, rebooted and installed File Sharing(version 3.0.15).  I was able to make a test user, group and share today and it appears to work ok.

I just installed 3.2 to virtual box on windows 7 x64.  Seems to be working except for certificates.

Yeah its very strange as we have two threads going at the moment.

http://forum.zentyal.org/index.php/topic,18554.msg73087.html#msg73087

Some work some don't. Its virtual and virtual box is either the most popular or worst culprit.

There are various spurious posts on the internet and I thinks its Samba4 rather than anything Zentyal have introduced.

I did a search for smbd/server.c:115(sig_term) and quite often virtual machine is mentioned. But its such a weird combinational fault that it could even be the driver set or somethin.

People are being hit with it and then others are not. What are you running on?
