Accessing Samba Share on VPN Clients
« on: April 22, 2009, 05:45:51 am »
Hi,

I have clients connecting to the samba share from different network. I would like to allow them to access my samba share, could you please show me how to do it?

Here's my network:

SAMBA: 192.168.100.1
VPN Client: 172.16.0.0

How can I allow them to access the shares?

Thanks!

javi

Your clients  can already access samba shares from the VPN using the eBox IP, in this case 172.16.0.1 is my guess.

If you want them to use eBox netbios name you can add a rule in the firewall section "Filtering rules for traffic coming out from eBox", to allow output traffic to 172.16.0.0/16.

There's a third option that I haven't tried and is letting the clients know that eBox is a wins sever, and you could save the broadcast packets.
