[SOLVED]Two installations of RC2 upgrade - DNS dead

Help!!!

I upgraded two installations of 3.0 RC1 to RC2. Now DNS refuses to start and gives an error saying:

"Error restarting service DNS. See /var/log/zentyal/zentyal.log for more information."

I tried to remove the DNS module and then add it back. I got tons of errors in the GUI screen that say this:

Some modules reported error when saving changes . More information on the logs in /var/log/zentyal/

Purge zentyal-dns.
sudo dpkg --configure -a.
Install zentyal-dns.

I did all three steps..
sudo apt-get purge zentyal-dns
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get install zentyal-dns

DNS is still dead and wont start. So I tried this:


sudo apt-get purge zentyal-dns
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get install zentyal-dns zentyal-squid zentyal-users

Same problem.

I have no idea if what I did was right to do, but here is how I got DNS to start.
 I noticed this error kept coming up:
/bin/mv /var/lib/zentyal/tmp/Y_w5U_DeVy '/etc/dhcp/ddns-keys/keys'
/bin/chmod 640 '/etc/dhcp/ddns-keys/keys'
/bin/chown root.dhcpd '/etc/dhcp/ddns-keys/keys' failed.
Error output: /bin/mv: cannot move `/var/lib/zentyal/tmp/Y_w5U_DeVy' to `/etc/dhcp/ddns-keys/keys': No such file or directory

I installed a new copy of RC2 on a machine and it worked so I look at the file /etc/dhcp/ddns-keys/keys. On teh macnhine where it did not work, neither the file /etc/dhcp/ddns-keys/keys nor the ddirectory /etc/dhcp/ddns-keys existed so I ran these:

sudo mkdir /etc/dhcp/ddns-keys
sudo touch /etc/dhcp/ddns-keys/keys
sudo chown root /etc/dhcp/ddns-keys/keys
sudo chown root /etc/dhcp/ddns-keys
sudo chhgrp dhcpd /etc/dhcp/ddns-keys/keys
sudo chhgrp dhcpd /etc/dhcp/ddns-keys

Once I did that, it let me start DNS.

Got same issue and I can confirm, the above resolution fixed the problem on starting DNS.
