Firewall - suggestion for receiving emails only

hi,

just a suggestion.
as i understand by default Ebox does not allow external connections to its email system by blocking all ports.

would it not be an alternative to have a service created with all ports necessary for accepting only email from the Internet?
so users can make use of VPN to connect to their email safely.
