Fresh Debian Etch (stable) installation
« on: February 04, 2008, 10:02:06 pm »
I installed eBox with "apt-get install ebox" using the eBox Debian repositories on a fresh Debian Etch (stable) installation, but when I run "/etc/init.d/ebox start" I get this error:

Code: [Select]
ebox:/etc/apache-perl# /etc/init.d/ebox start
/usr/bin/perl: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/perl5/auto/Gnome2/GConf/GConf.so: undefined symbol: gconf_unset_flags_get_type

What's the problem?

Another question is if is it possible to have eBox running on the existing Apache2 installation running with the www-data user and group, without running another Apache instance (I realized that eBox uses Apache 1.3, isn't it possible to use Apache2?).

Thank you very much for your help!
Bye.

Stable eBox is only installable on oldstable release, Sarge.

You may use Apache2 without a problem if you need it. Both instances may live together.
