Trouble with CUPS :-(
« on: July 22, 2012, 12:17:03 pm »
Hi folks.

I'm having a bit of a nightmare with CUPS! I can login to the CUPS administrator interface using my Zentyal admin details. However after this nothing really seems to work properly :-(

When I run "Add Printer" it seems to detect the printer (a Xerox Phaser 8560 connected via USB) without difficulty. I can then set options etc. BUT when I try to print a test page it asks for authentication again. And when I try my Zentyal credentials it fails. It seems to want root authentication. I've checked from the CLI and Zentyal admin is a member of "zenadmin : zenadmin adm lp dialout cdrom plugdev lpadmin sambashare admin"

Worse still - when I go back to the "Administration" tab in CUPS I get asked for authentication again, and my Zentyal credentials are refused. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Whats going on?!!! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp
