Are these instruction still the same for ebox 1.2?  If not has anyone got funambol working with 1.2?  If so can someone post a guide.  Thank you

i've had it working both with syncevolution and funambol for thunderbird (few known issues with thunderbird, where it duplicates your contact - on ubuntu not sure about windows). i could never get either one of them to work with the funambol sync app on my g1 though. :(

syncevolution works the best for me though, flawless.

I found out that in eGroupware 1.6 there is no "session_type". It is replaced by "session_handler".
Do anyone know what that means in cooperation with syncevolution?
Thanks for help

Mammut -- sorry I haven't been on the forums for a while. Are you still having issues sycing using syncevolution?

Also, to whoever is responsible for the wiki, there was a link to my site that had the tutorial for sycing using syncevolution but it has moved... http://carlos.limardo.biz ... sorry about that I moved it not realizing there were links leading to it previously.

Thanks, any questions I'll try and keep checking back here or e-mail me at carlos.limardo@gmail.com

PS. I'd be glad to wikify and keep it updated in the actual wiki as well so you don't have to link offsite if you'd prefer.

Just for anyone finding this topic, I am exploring the possibilities with eGW+TB+Blackberry, see this link:

just a quick update to this...

I've been trying to get ebox 1.4 (egroup 1.6) and thunderbird 3.04 with the funambol 1.0 beta3 plugin talking.

The calendar seems to sync just fine

The addressbook only syncs the names going from TB => egroup
The other way works fine will all the data going where it should.

I'm guessing this is probably just related to using a beta but it would be nice to hear if anyone else has had a similar problem!

Hey cheesyking,

thanks for testing and updating my thread about this.

I could imagine these solutions:
- somehow update eGW to at least 1.6003 (I was told in the eGW forums this is the minimum requirenment for a working sync) and try again with funambol + TB3
- send a patch to the TB3-tree with an extra field for phone numbers in the address book, just like outlook has (to prevent loosing information when syncing from e.g. BB)
- find another desktop client that works better with eGW (any experience with Evolution? I tried it on Windows, butit was a slow crap of *&%$§)

I was told, the only *really* working solution under Linux is a Novell GroupWise server, because it has a BES server add-on, that is officially supported by RIM....

It really IS deadeasy. Even for Outlook. Iv been doing this flawlessly for a while already.
I did however make use of an Outlook plugin for my syncing.
I used EVO Collaborator which lets me sync eGroupware to Outlook in a few clicks (auto detects most of it)
and this in turn lets me sync to other devices again as well :)
