DNS domain IP address
« on: March 25, 2008, 04:11:04 pm »
Hello,

Ive installed Ebox on VirtualBox :), and it works excellent, Im serving 60 users community network with it.

I have a question about DNS domain.

When I set a domain, then I can add hosts.

My domain is for example "titel.wi"
And host is "titus" with ip "192.168.1.10

therefore DNS will resolve titus.titel.wi = 192.168.1.10

but, how can I add to "titel.wi" IP address so it can be resolved.

Because when I use Ebox DNS and type "nslookup" I get "cant find server name for address . . ."

Thx

The DNS reverse resolution is done automatically. So, once you have added a host (titus) to a domain (titel.wi) with an IP address (192.168.1.10), these mappings are done:

  • titus.titel.wi     => 192.168.1.10
  • 192.168.1.10 => titus.titel.wi

I hope this helps.
