software updates and monitoring

I am still experimenting with ebox1.3 but have a couple of suggestions
I currently have a web server that serves a site using mysql - I would be great if the status of a mysql server could be seen in dashboard and if events could send alerts should the server throw a wobbly.
Currently one of my machines is running apt-cacher that all the other Kubuntu desktops, and now my try-out ebox servers, are using to cache updates - could this be included in ebox, with all the usual monitoring and alerts?
I lied - I have 3 suggestions!
could the asterisk GUI be integrated into or allowed to work along side ebox? I tried to install this on top of an ebox, with asterisk installed, machine but could not get it to work. This would make managing asterisk so much easier (by the look of the documentation)
Hope these comments help

Your suggestions have been added to your wishlist [1] [2].

Regarding to asterisk, we already have a module to manage asterisk, called
ebox-asterisk
. Check our documentation [3] for details.

Thanks for adding my suggestions
I had seen the asterisk module but that gives fairly limited configuration of an asterisk server (if my reading of the docs on asterisk is correct)
Your module does a grand job of setting up a basic server - I know, I have tried it and it works!!
However setting things up like which extensions can use which outside lines, passing unanswered calls from one extension to a specific other extension and lots of other stuff is possible though the editing of config files or though an asterisk GUI
AsteriskNOW is an all in one install of the server complete with GUI from CD (like a ebox install CD) so not much use if trying to use with ebox
it is also possible to build the asterisk-gui yourself, though I tried and it failed to work on an existing ebox asterisk install. I could not persuade it to show me the web page of the GUI. My plan is to come back to this later and have another go or do the reverse and try and install ebox over an asteriskNOW instalation

Our VoIP is limited yet. But I think more to come is possible. However, would you mind telling us which features do you miss the most in current simple asterisk configuration?
Cheers and thanks very much for your feedback!

I have no real experience of using asterisk yet - I am concentrating on getting ldap master/slaves to work, windows and linux authentication and then trying egroupware some more. Asterisk is a little way down my list.
However from what I have read in the asterisk documentation being able to control (assuming we plug our POTS lines into the box) who can phone out on which line. who receives calls from what line and who, if anyone, gets passed those calls if they go unanswered.
(For what it is worth, the opinion of a total non expert)

Hi to add on to what peterr has mentioned, it will be nice to be able to add in the module for FXO/FXS into ebox for monitoring as described on the documentation on eBox under FXO and FXS section so that it will become a full features PABX system much like trixbox if you have come across it before. Thanks
