In case you don't find here the answer, what could be related to Zentyal is admin interface.
You may get some figures or feedback looking at large scale deployment for squid & dansguardian which are the most impacting components here.

On the zentyal.com website you can find some success stories. One of them is a large scale implementation of zentyal on several schools in Aragon, Spain.

Have a look and maybe you can contact the people involved with the projects for more information. I'm sure Zentyal staff can help you with those contacts.

Hi hanafeyah,

some people from the community have already replied you, I would like to say from Zentyal staff side that we have successfully deployed Zentyal in big schools and universities, for both gateway and UTM roles, doing all the management of the Internet connection: firewall, HTTP proxy, balancing and QoS, etc. and also as an office server with users&groups management, domain controller, file and printers sharing, etc.

When doing such deployments for many users, optimizing performance and having vendor support to address on due time any issue is very important. I encourage you to have a look at our success stories: http://www.zentyal.com/en/references/our-customers/ and don't hesitate to contact us if you have any question on info AT zentyal.com.

You will need to perform optimization on LDAP, probably apache serving the captive page too.

Hi hanafeyah,

Would you please consider asking your question on the captive portal in the General Support forum, since it is a separate product support question from the rest of the topic? Thank you!

hi hanafeyah,

what you are experiencing seems to be a performance problem, some profiling is needed to see where is the bottleneck there and optimize your system.
