Syncing Users and Password from Windows Server LDAP
« on: September 13, 2012, 12:12:58 »
Hi Wondering if anyone can help me,

I'm pretty new to Zentyal and have installed it on a poweredge 860 to use it as a File Server initially to my Windows Domain. I have run through all the installation and set the machine as a Windows AD slave.
I've installed the Windows Zenytal Migration package on my AD server and filled in the relevant fields to allow users and groups to sync, I have replicated these fields on 'Mars' my Zentyal file server.
I seem to be having an issue syncing my user accounts and groups though.

I'm not sure if the LDAP setting are correct as this is the first time setting something like this up I'd just like to run the config by someone with a bit more experience than myself.

LDAP settings are currently set too.
Base DN - dc=mars,dc=local,dc=net
Root DN - cn=ebox,dc=mars,dc=local,dc=net
Password - ################
Users DN - ou=Users,dc=mars,dc=local,dc=net
Groups DN - ou=Groups,dc=mars,dc=local,dc=net

My Domain is called Local.net
My Zentyal file server has a host Name of Mars

Any information you can provide will be really useful and as I say you will have to forgive me being a bit of a novice.

Thanks

jsalamero

I recommend you to use the new synchronizing way on Zentyal 3.0, making the domain and file sharing module (samba4) to be a member of your domain.
